Lawrenceville Gets New Drumming Station

Anitox is pleased to report the installation of a new drumming station at the Lawrenceville plant. The previous drumming station had been in operation for many, many years and unfortunately the controls were outdated and no longer available to purchase. The effect was a slower running station in that all drums and IBC’s had to be filled in manual mode.

The new drumming station was installed during the week of 03-13-17 through 03-17-17. The new station is PLC driven with recipe configurations, a cleanout station, and smart system that tracks and adjust filling volumes based upon pre – determined spec limits. The system is designed to read fill volumes and displays visual indicators and stop if volume has exceeded or not met the specifications. The operator now has the ability to select which product they will be running, the associated pump needed and simply hit start and the station will fill in automatic mode through fast fill and dribble mode.

During this install the Lawrenceville plant built up inventory in all tanks and IBC’s of finished product and the effect was that no order was missed or delayed during this time frame.

This project was a great collaboration of external contractors and of Anitox employees as they assisted in the removal of the old station and working each day with the crew  setting up the new station.
