VIV Asia Recap

Widely regarded as the ‘flagship’ trade show for the feed and food industries in Asia, VIV Asia is held bi-annually in Bangkok. With an airy, modern looking, purpose-built booth in an excellent position next to one of the main thoroughfares, the Asia-Pacific team focused its promotional and educational activities primarily on Maxi-Mil (the team’s biggest selling range) and also Termin-8. The team was supported at the event by Ruth Jewkes and Roger Mann.

With many countries in the region now starting to look very seriously at moving away from antibiotic growth promoters (AGP’s) the team had a number of discussions with customers about what role Termin-8 could play in a ‘post-AGP’ world. The rest of the feed additive industry’s desire to promote their products as alternatives to AGP’s was evident throughout the event with almost every other booth referring in some way to ‘reduced antibiotic use’. Productive meetings were also held (off the booth) with Aviagen and Cobb.

In order to help collect contact details from attendees to the booth the AP team trialed a scanning App for the first time and recorded over 101 visitors to the booth just bye scanning their visitor passes’ QR codes. The team also ran a well-attended 40 Year Anniversary Champagne and chocolates ‘Happy Hour’ on the first two days to encourage visitors to the stand.

According to the VIV organisers and fellow exhibitors this was the biggest and busiest VIV Asia ever. For the AP who were rushed off their feet at times, it certainly felt like a successful event.
